Outcomes:
In this session we will lay the foundation of underlying principles necessary in order to undergo
a redesign for holistic foundaitonal skills. We will learn what to expect during the series, inventory district opportunities and challenges, and set goals to accomplish across the five sessions

Outcomes:

In this session district teams will dive deeply into their foundational skills curriucla to understand the design of each parallel scope and sequence, align it to Science of Reading research for MLLs, and decide on the amount of manipulation that will be required to redesign it holistically.

Outcomes:
In this session participants will learn the process for redesigning for a holistic bilingual scope and sequence, including considerations for various program models. Our team will offer various examples of design models that reflect a holistic approach.

Outcomes:
While continuously drafting the scope and sequence, districts will learn key considerations for ensuring a holistic lens is continuously applied to the redesign process. Through collaboration across districts with the same program model, participants will calibrate approaches and gain insight from one another.

Outcomes:
The journey continues beyond the initial design phase. Districts will engage in a guided brainstorm of additional holistic design opportunities within their bilingual program, and create an action plan of best ways to move forward with this momentum towards holistic biliteracy.

The impact of designing a holistic scope and sequence is increased when leaders collaborate within district. Everyone brings a different set of experiences and lenses to support the design. In intital stages of designing a holistic foundaitonal skills, it is ideal to begin with Kindergarten. This series will focus on designing for a Kindergarten and First Grade scope & sequence first. Reach out to our team about various customizable options for additional grade levels.
